Manon Smits translates Italian and English literature into Dutch. Among others, she has translated Alessandro Baricco, Elsa Morante, Silvia Avallone, Jhumpa Lahiri and Alba De Céspedes from Italian and Elif Shafak and Jon McGregor from English.

"During my stay at the Translation Zone, I finished translating Paolo Giordano's Tasmania, which will come out on October 25th in Italy and only a month later in the Netherlands."

"We got up early every day with the amazing sunrises in the morning, right here from the terrace. We worked most of the time. It's so quiet and there are all these different places to choose from, our own room, the living room, or the terrace with the amazing view of the little church on the hill."

Pieter van der Drift has translated literary novels into Dutch, among others Edoardo Albinati, Fabio Genovesi, Pietro Grossi, Davide Longo and Boris Pahor. He has also translated prize-winning children's books and other books such as the authorized biographies of Totti and Ibrahimovič.
